Question Float Drop?

Hello all,

Well, my dad and I are rebuilding a carb for the first time, and we have a question about calibrating the float. The rebuild kit says we need a float level measurement of 15/32" with the carb top inverted measuring from the gasket to the float toe flange. We have that. The question is about the float drop measurement. The kit says we need 19/32" float drop. I am assuming this means i need a measurment of 19/32" from the gasket to the float toe flange when I turn the carb top right side up? Correct, or does this mean I need a drop of 19/32" from the original position of 15/32", meaning that I would have a measurement of 1-1/16" measured from the gasket to the float toe when the carb is right side up. I think it is probably the first way because I can't imagine that the kit would make you add 19/32" to 15/32" instead of just giving you the new measurement. I think I'm overthinking this all, but I thought I would ask anyway, before I get the carb all buttoned up.

thanks,
Chris
