Filler neck screen?

Hello, just bought a 69 Cutlass that’s been sitting for a year or more. Have no idea what condition gas is in the tank. Planning on siphoning most of it out, will a hose go deep into the tank with no issues?
Thanks

A tip that Joe P. shared is to disconnect the fuel line at the fuel pump. Then put a plug with an air hose in the tank fill. Push the gas through rather than siphoning. If I got that wrong Joe can clarify, but I do like the idea of pressurizing the tank to push it out.

If there’s any crap in the tank I like the idea of sucking it up and out the filler.

You got it exactly right John. I use a rag to plug the filler when I put my air nozzle in it. Be careful to dial down the pressure on your regulator however. You can balloon the tank if the pressure is too high.
