LQ9 swap

Hello new to this forum name is Steve from California. I have a 1972 Cutlass S I’ve had for a while now, I’m looking to do and Ls swap. I currently have a 6.0 Lq9 motor with the a Texas speed bfd cam, springs/ rods and a 4l80 trans behind it. I also have the Holley terminator x max to go with that. I’m hoping to gather some info on here to help with this swap.

I got nothing to help ya, but I'm wondering what rear gear ratio are you gonna use?

Are the 3.90 gears close to what came in the Chevy truck that had the LQ9?

Currently have a 5.3/T10 4 speed in my 72 daily driver. Also have done an LQ9 in a 68 corvette. Build thread here:

Also a lot of info at the LS1tech conversions forum. Lots of A body swaps there.

@Olds64 the motor is off a 2004 Escalade, I want to say gear ratio is between 3.06 and 3.42

You'll probably have to update the LQ9 ECM with axle ratio info. Are you going to use HP Tuners?
