Choke Pull Off

Anyone know the part number for a 1964 Choke pull off for a Rochester 4 BBL?

I would like to find one but it seems difficult.

Maybe someone with a service manual can chime in with a part number, but does this look like it?

If it's a 4gc it's integral to the hot air choke housing.

No. That's for a QuadraJet.

As stated 4GC use a brass choke piston and link that's integrated into the hot air choke housing. Vacuum moves it to open the choke plate same as the external diaphragm style does.

George, my Rochester parts book is packed away but Joe Padavano also has one, and can probably find the piston part number for you.

So not real good at this, but the car runs great but on a cold start it is slightly rough for about 30 seconds to a minute then will get into fast idle until warm and then I can kick off the fast idle. It will do this on its own without me giving it any gas, but if it was any worse it might stall. I was just looking to tweak it some. Other than that the 394 V8 runs great.

So I think it is the choke pull off that is weak, it takes a minute or so until the car gets into the fast idle. Is my guess correct?

Yes it is a Rochester 4 barrel and stock not changed.

As I think about this I think the brass piston in the thermostat housing may be getting dirty.

I am going to get my guy to remove the carburetor and clean, give it a good soaking and rebuild it. I am seeing little seepage around the accelerator pump also.

We checked the timing yesterday and was still right on and ran well.

One question was how the PCV valve was installed. Does it sit in the housing on the valve cover. Took it off and not sure if I need a whole new assembly AC Delco C639C or the PCV fits into it?
