1962 isnt getting gas to carb

1962 isnt getting gas to carb

A kid pointed out a rubber cap like piece that draws the gas into the carb, that is cracked what is this part called? He told me and I forgot.

Not sure what you mean. Is this on the carb? The fuel pump is located forward on the engine low, below the a/c compressor if you have a/c, the fuel pump draws the fuel from the tank and pumps it into the carb. I guess you could actually call it a fuel "sucker".

Unhappy stumped

The fuel pump is fine. The line was clogged from old gas but I think I have that cleared. There is a loop in the fuel line that comes up into the trunk. When I lift that loop, one end is open ended going nowhere. Maybe there was a rubber length that rotted off which extended into the tank? And the fuel filter seems to have fallen off. I cant find any replacement filters on line. I wish I had a picture or drawing that would help me with how this is supposed to be working. Is there a chiltons or similar manual on this? I have a shop manual which has little to no reference to the fuel line, pump or filter other than the latter should be cleaned periodically.
