Newbie with a Toro

Hey all - Newbie here. Just picked up a 67 Toronado that seems pretty straight and rust free. Has some issues - hasn't been tagged in quite a few years. Runs and drives. I'd like to do at least a partial resto and keep it in the garage. I'm looking for a few parts (isn't everyone). Someone put a 7026202 quadrajet on it which from what I've been able to gather is off of a 66 Chevy 396,427,327. Motor appears to be the original 425. Has the 389244D on the motor with one gold valve cover and one painted dark blue (not the correct light slate blue). Anywho, I'm looking for the original quadrajet 7027131 for the 67 Toro. Also looking for the clock - someone deleted it and put in an aftermarket tach. No cracks in the dash and has the original wonderbar radio that works. Light buckets are stuck in the up position. Drivers seat needs love. Love the car though. Any help I can get on those two parts would be appreciated and yes I posted in the parts wanted section but thought I would mention it here too.

Nice looking car! And it has the cornering light option (between the front tire and bumper... this was an option not all cars had). Most but not all of these cars came with power seat, windows, tilt/tele steering wheel, etc. Does your car have these options?

Yes - power windows, seats, telescoping and tilt wheel. So far, everything works. Turn signals don't cancel and I see that part is also difficult to locate.

Welcome aboard, looks like a nice Toro. I restored a yellow 67 many years ago, loved that 425. Does your car have drums in the front or the optional discs?

Its the deluxe model but it has drum brakes. Car hasn't been tagged for many years so I'll bleed and adjust when I can but I'll still have to brake ahead of time or I'll be crushing any Prius I see!

Mine had the discs but it still was a bear to stop, lot of iron there!

Welcome aboard.

With any luck your light buckets may only have a vacuum leak type problem but that is one of the more common problems these cars suffer from, hopefully they aren't rusted to the point they can't be revived to working. By the way 66-67 is my favorite in the Toro series, nice cars.....Lost in the fifties ...Tedd

I have long term 1st gen Toro experience. Before you attack the headlight vacuum operators, check to see if a previous owner may have had problems with their operation and just adjusted the bottom threaded anchor rod so that the headlights are always in the full up position. A very common "easy fix" for balky headlight operators.
