Thumbs up Newbie with a 69 toro

Hi folks! My name is Bob and I just joined. Happy to be here! Looks like a great forum. I live in Westminster CO and am a member of the Rocky Mountain Olds Club. Finally, after 10 years of membership I finally found my dream car. It's a 69 Toronado Deluxe. Chestnut brown with the darker vinyl top. Only 37k miles and it's ALL ORIGINAL. I'm pleased as punch as it was love at first sight. I will upload some pics later for you to admire. While it does need a few cosmetic and mechanical items, it runs great with the 455 and is an excellent 10 footer! The optional 8-track player even works. A bit of history; this car took 1st place in it's class at the 2005 Oldsmobile Nationals in Seattle. I am the 4th owner and while I knew I couldn't afford it, the last owner fell upon some hard times both financially and personally and well, you know the story; one man's misfortune is another man's good fortune. Long story short, we made a deal we could both live with. I joined this forum so I can keep my baby running happy and healthy for many years, so look forward to my questions. Thanks for looking!

Welcome to CO. Very interesting story behind a very interesting car. I can't wait to see photos of it as it sounds like a very nice color combo.

Wow. Thanks for the nice welcome Guys! You know, you only get one chance to make a first impression and it appears that joining this forum was a good move! A great first impression from all of you. Once correction on my part though, the Toro is NOT a deluxe, it's the Custom. My bad. Not sure what the diff is but from what I u nderstand the custom is a notch above the deluxe as far as interior appearance. Longer armrests, shoulder belts, etc. Regardelss, I'd like to thank you again for the warm welcome. I'll be back soon!

Hey Oldsguy! I've uploaded some pictures of my Toro for your viewing pleasure. My album is called "Bob's 69 toronado". I don't have pics of the engine area yet, but will add them soon. It looks as good as the exterior though. I hope these give you and idea of why I'm so happy I found this car. Let me know what you think.

Thanks! I spent a few hours giving it a good wax job and it really brought out the color. I'm amazed that the paint is in such good shape what with it being original. It's obvious the previous owners put a lot of love into this baby. Hopefully, I can continue the tradition. Happy Halloween!

Hey Citcapp, your 57 rocks! the fender skirts are a terrific addition but they don't look stock what with that little rise in them at the beginning. Sure improves the lines on the car though. NICE!
