newbie with a 66 toro project.
Hi, my name is Don. I have recently purchased a 66 olds toronado. Car has not been on the road since 1974. Car does not run at this time, but i am the third owner and car is all but 100% original. I am restoring this car, as it was once truly a very stunning car in my opinon. The second owner (now deseaced) purchased car on 7/22/1970. From what the owners wife had told me he was a traveling salesman and drove the car daily, twice to california and back to pennslyvania where he resided. Car was parked in there barn in 1974 due to a little collision with damage to the front bumper and passenger fender. I would quess that high gas prices at that time had been the reason why car was not repaired and owner had used another car from that time on. I found this car on craigslist, and the owner (wife) needed to sell car due to sale of home and lost of car storage. I told the wife that i would restore this car and not use car in a demolision crash up derby as did someone else that looked at car with interest. so i will be needing some advise at time to time during restoration.
Thanks,
Don
Thanks,
Don

Welcome! I too am currently restoring a 66 Toro, so I will be there right with you with questions and answers. I'm sure Ill be working on it for a while as I have 2 other Dynamic 88 Oldsmobiles in restore progress, a 3rd 88 that I customize with my own brand of "junk pile parts" and little money to do it with.
Slow and steady wins the race, right? So I'll be done by October..... 2047!
