Hello everyone. My name is Larry and very new to this,please excuse. I have inherited an Olds Jetstar 88 from my dad . Could anyone tell me how to remove the radio . And where I could find a replacement or a retro that would fit.
You are indeed fortunate to have inherited such a beautiful car .
The radio comes out from under the dash . There are several wire connections including the antenna which just pull off . There is one small support bracket which must be removed . The ***** and bezels just pull off . Under them there are two thin nuts that have to be removed.
Some of these cars were optionally equipped with AM/FM radios .
They occasionally pop up on E-Bay. 1963 and 64 radios are the same . Only the ***** differ in appearance .

If you are considering a radio swap there are a few manufacturers that offer a new radio that looks like a classic radio. They fit in place of your original. You might also consider mounting a modern radio under the dash or in the glove box.
I would recommend that rather than an ill-fitting aftermarket radio, have your original converted to modern internals. I had my 67 D88 radio done by Mike Hagan Retro Radios. He does a phenomenal job. He can convert to AM/FM stereo, add aux inputs, USB, and even bluetooth if you want.
