newbie arrived

just got a hold of a 1964 olds 98. that needs a lot work, hopefully get some tips on this site, or answers to some questions that I'm sure will come up.

Welcome to Classic Olds.Bumpers and bright work will clean up well and that 'll save a bundle of money.The paint looks very thin ,so it should be easily sanded to prepare for painting. Larry

Body is in pretty good shape, very little rust, but going to concentrate on power train first, just finished pulling engine and trany, will rebuild both just so I know it is good, car sat for over 5 years, started well and drove it 400 km, ran a little rough but made it, a fair amount of Blow by coming out of valve cover and oil filler, did heat up as ran low on coolant, pretty sure the heater core is shot, did blow some antifreeze out defrost, lots to do will be a slow process.
