...and just arrived from Meechigan

I've been loitering as a non-member for a while and finally made it legit. Congrats on keeping your site easily accessible and largely drama-free!

short version:

I had a '71 cutlass s when I was 17.
kid brother totals car.
college
wife
house
kids
business
30 years later (father's day) - '71 cutlass supreme convertible

Welcome to the site. You must be a great father for a gift like that.

All I received was a shirt.

Welcome aboard and welcome back to Olds
Here's my version:
I had a 72 Cutlass S when I was 17
Kid brother trashes car and sells to me for 1.00
college (still got the 72)
job, job, job work a holic (I drives the 72 to work and decides to restore it)
rent rent rent throw away money on other cars and fun (still got the 72)
finally get the wife, house and son (still keeping the 72)
Getting ready to retire (yup, still got the 72)
Summary: Happiness is keeping your 72 through the lean times and the good times. I love my car. Oops, the wife's coming up the stairs so I gotta post this quick.....LOL

Welcome to CO Ladd. Very succinct story but familiar too. Sometimes we have to wait a long time for good to happen!

Talking Welcome to CO

Always did like the short version of a story, similar to a mini-series. Next story give car to kid later in life story repeats its self.

Welcome.

My version would be:

I had a '71 cutlass s when I was 17.
kid brother totals car.
Kid brother accidentally gets stuck under tire of my old man's truck several times when I take it to find him.
Saved enough at my job making license plates for 15 years to get another.

Thanks for the welcome. In the interest of full disclosure, I should mention that the "gift" part of father's day was my wife allowing me to spend "my" money to buy the car.

I'll try and figure out the pic thingy soon.
