New Ride has arrived!!

It's been a couple years but finally got me another Olds project. This is a one owner 72 Cutlass with 86K miles. I was given receipts since new, all the manuals, POP and found the build sheet under the front seat. Except for the radio and the curb feelers, everything on this car is original. Also, it's a California car so there is zero rust on this baby. The trunk is as clean as I've ever seen and still has the factory splatter paint. There have been no patches on this car anywhere...not even the doglegs. Not many options but does have ps, pb, ac (working), light package, disc brakes. I picked up a set of SSII's for the car and the seller told me they were 14 X 7 but they're actually 15 X 7. I actually wanted the 14's to maintain the factory appearance but now I'm thinking the 15's might actually look good also. I've seen 15's on these cars before that looked too big. What size tire should I run on the 15 inch wheels to maintain the stance and look of the 14's? I was having a little trouble finding 14 inch tires so this might be a blessing in disguise. Thanks for any suggestions!

Cool Tire Size

I`d go with 245/60/15 bfgs with black walls with that color. 15x7 SS3

Yeah, those wheels are nice....and expensive too!! I got my set for the price of one of those repro wheels. Just need to find the right tires. Thanks.

This might be a good suggestion.

Is your speedometer correct now? If it is, try to get a tire that gives you the same height as it is now. I would suggest looking from say 205/70 215/70 maybe 235/60 or like above. Just make sure.... if the width matters to you.

If I remember correctly, the 14" tire in the day could of been F70, which equates into a 205/70/14 or 235/60/14 today... or thereabouts. Just make sure to check on the 15"

yeah, I've pretty much decided to run the 15's....just looking for suggestions on tire size as I don't want to deal with tires rubbing and would like to keep the 14" factory look....so I guess I'm looking for a 15" tire with a smaller sidewall (height) that would be roughly the same height as the stock 14's.
