Wanted: 1970 W30 442 Black post car
Would like to locate 1970 W30 442 black post car I may have owned in the past. This 1970 W30 442 black post car had a Fisher body number of 424694 and was built on 4/20. Any info would be welcome.
Thanks

I looked at a black 1970 442 W-30 post coupe in Indianapolis in 1988. I believe it was an automatic car, with red stripes. Bought some extra parts he had purchased for the car like Fusick grilles. Passed on the whole car as I didn't want another car at the time. The whole complete car could have been bought for around $1,500. I told a friend of mine in Indiana about the car after that, and when he went back to the house the car was gone. He was told the car went to a junkyard. Apparently the owner needed the car gone due to his new living arrangement provided by the State of Indiana law enforcement.

I don't have the Fisher body number but I do have the grilles still in the Fusick box with the 1988 owner's name and address on the shipping label. Greg H

My site automatically pulls contact information from ads off after usually 2 weeks for privacy reasons. The description and pictures remain to build a history and let users see what cars were on the market at what price. In most cases, you can follow the "web source" link under the title to see if the original ad is still there. In this case, you can see it was deleted by the author which leads me to believe it was probably sold.

Did the seller have to set up an account to post the ad to your site, or did your site get it via the Louisville Craigslist site? If he has an account with an email address, could you be a go-between and see if he'd be wiling take an email from the OP to ask about it? Just looking for ways to help a guy find his old car.
MRSDOC, I'd put an ad looking for info on the Louisville Craigslist under Cars Wanted with '1970 442 W-30 post coupe project' as the title. It's almost guaranteed that someone who is attracted to your posting called or emailed the seller about the car. Your odds are decent that someone has an email response with contact info. Maybe the buyer himself will be the one to get in touch with you. Good luck!

Thanks to all that responded on this site as well as 442.com. The information has been helpful with locating our old car. We had three black cars back in the 80's, two had been parted out and one sold. Have old build sheet and paper work for one and would to reunite the two and would like to know if it is still exists. We also owned a black W31 with white stripes and W27 with 4 Cragar rims all flat out of apartment complex in Elgin, IL and would also like to track the history if possible. This car was sold in Geneva, IL back in mid 80's an we still have paperwork/docs as well. All help would be appreciated. Happy Holidays!
Thanks,
