Too old for this group?

Too old for this group?
Hello fellow car guys. I'm new to any type of forum and expecially one like yours. After looking more closely to some of the posts it seems that you guys may have later model cars than I will be talking about. I've recently found a real barn find; a 1939 2 door sedan, all origional with 18k miles. Although I'm an old drag racer and have a collection of race/muscle cars, a guy I worked with just about forced me to buy this car from his families estate. Although my wife thinks I'm crazy I think this may be my first restoration. Looking forward to talking with you restorers and getting into the Oldsmobile family of collectors and restorers.

Welcome to CO
Nope the car and you, are not to old for this site although you might find more sources for parts on restoration site dedicated to older cars. We are about everything Oldsmobile here. Post pictures of you new purchase please

I'll post as soon as the sight will allow. I looked at some of the other threads and I seem to be in the right spot. Always nice to chat with fellow "motorheads" whatever their poison may be.

welcome welcome welcome old race car collection you say SWEEET .
I have really been into the old front rail jobs the last few years I was bumed to see they can no longer run at the strip. from what I have read they are outlawed at most now-days? Still would look really cool .

Firefrost, you need to find some vintage races. I run with a group that puts on these races in the Ky Tenn Indiana Ohio areas. Kinda scary, very few rules in the tech lane but lots of fun! The old FEDs and gassers are really big down here. Everything goes to sleep in my area as far as racing is concerned, but I'll post fliers as they come out in the spring.

Welcome, your car is not too old. No such thing. I have an Olds powered '42 Chevy, not much newer than yours. I know several others have cars of that era. Congratulations on the purchase. I would absolutely love to see picture of it. I think you found the right forum. For other forums that are into vintage cars, check out the AACA forum, they are mostly restorers on there.

Welcome to the site. Any Olds built after to 1897 is not "too old" () and yours is very cool. Just be aware that the majority of the members of this site have cars in the 1950s to 1980s range, but all are welcome.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Still trying to get pictures up. I think I need to post more before the page will let me. I'll show you guys (gals) the diamond in the rough asap.

Most of the members on this site are in the 50's to 80's range too.
We all take our naps in the afternoon so long as you aren't too noisy and stay off of our lawns you should be okay.
Some guys like Redgoat stay up all night turf riding lawns.

Welcome. Looking forward to seeing not only the Olds but any pics of the old race cars. We had a Nostalgia Drag Race day in Sydney last weekend. Always a huge day and FEDs, including a couple of nitro cars, are still a big drawcard. Love em !
