Oldsmobile usually called that Autronic Eye. I have one on my 54 and I thinl John Oldenburg was the guy I got it from. He rebuilds them into solid state units. Mine works but I hardly ever use it. I actually got a template where to mount it.

Thanks Eric. That clears up the name and probably anything else you could think of about.

Hi redoldsman

Yes, Oldsmobile changed the name from Autronic-Eye to Guide-Matic in 1960.
I have some pics from google showing position in the dashboard from 1960.
Do they seem to match the position with your template?

The dash on the 54 is completely different. You are probably going to need a 90 degree drill to drill the dash. Fortunately for me the windshield was out when mine was drilled.

Gotta love the lines of the 60 Olds! It was my high school ride. Mine was a Super 88 with a factory 3-on-the-tree set up.
