Nice to hear from you, and Welcome to C.O.
Love the 83 Regency Brougham. Not really a big fan of the Diesel engine though - not in a luxury car. Ever think about just changing it to a 350 gasser?
Got any pics of your car?

Welcome from one newbie to another...
I had a 1983 Regency back in the early 90's. It was a 307 if I remember correctly. The car was a hi mile 2nd car, but what a great vehicle (except for the gas mileage). The car went away to school with my oldest daughter and didn't survive the experience. It was nick-named "Uncle Buck".

Keep the Diesel. There just aren't many of them around anymore. Yeah, it was underpowered, yeah, it had its weak spots. But there just aren't many around.
Plus, depending where you are, legally converting a Diesel Olds to a gas engine can get into a whole lot of work and headache. As in this car would have to have a computer-controlled 307 to pass muster in some locations.

Welcome!
My folks had an '82 Regency Brougham Diesel. They ran it 100,000 miles plus, then my sister ran it several years, then my brother drove it for some time before selling it to a neighbor. It just kept going and going... It was a good sized car and would get up to 33 mpg cruising at highway speeds. Good luck with the restoration!
