Joining up finally after reading for years. I bought my 67 442 my senior year of high school 40 years ago. Lucky to have had lots of muscle cars in the 80's when they were available, but this one the only one that mattered and I kept through good times and bad times. Cheers,

Welcome to classicoldsmobile! This is the best site for anything Olds and it has helped me tremendously with my two cars. Show us some pictures when you get a chance. Where in Oregon are you?

Thank you Randy, I grew up in Pleasant Hill, south of you, Moved to Bend in 94. I'm on a business trip so limited access to pics, but this one is from 1987 at Castle AFB, CA if I remember correctly.
At this time it was stock drivetrain except headers, (400, 4 sp. 3.90s)

Steve - Welcome to a fellow '67 4-4-2 owner! I am so happy for you that you were able to hold on to that beauty thru all of life's ups and downs! Sometime we'll have to compare notes on the current make-up of our cars via PM's. As other members have noted, this site is the BEST for us Oldsmobile guys. Here's a recent pic of my '67, and again welcome.
Chris

Welcome! My favorite year. Sold my yellow, black vinyl top, 4speed 48 years ago to my friend. He said it was his favorite car, wished he still had it!

There used to be a man named Larry who is/was in the Redmond area as well and he worked a lot with the '66 and '67 models. If you need parts it would be worth a research to find him. I haven't seem him post on this site in a while so I hope he's still out there!

I bought a parts car from him 20 years ago and we have occasionally talked about meeting for lunch, but have not managed it, mostly due to my work schedule.
I saw him out in his convertible last year... but not seen him this year. Hope he is OK.

Mine was originally yellow too, but was painted silver / grey in 1976, ( whoever did it dipped their finger in the paint and wrote 1976 under the drivers side door panel). I assume that is when the diamond tuck seat inserts were done as well. It was repainted silver / gray again in 1981 by the guy I bought it from after a minor accident and then I had it repainted this year same color, but stripped it down to metal this time. This time is base coat clear coat instead of single stage as well.

Yes, still in Central Oregon. How is Medford treating you? Were you in the Portland area before?

Gawd that's an awsome color! You have to tell us what kind of wheels you have on that thing, beautiful. Welcome to C.O.

I've been here since 2001. I was in the Salem area, working for the USFS up at Detroit lake. The Willamette Valley rain can be hard on the old cars. But Eastern Oregon and here in the Rogue Valley have much less rust!

Apologies, my memory failed me there. Yes the desert climate here is good for cars. Last year we bought a 61 Ford Falcon for my youngest daughter that has been parked under a tree since 1986. No rust and incredibly complete project car. Now the paint fade is bad and the interior shot from all the sun, but its all there. When I was stationed in upper Michigan in 84 and 85, 10 year old cars there had no floor in them, full of rust...

Welcome Steve. Very nice car. Enjoy the forum and it has a lot of information. It looks like we have another USAF vet. Me also 62 to 66.
