Hello,
my name is Michael, I`m 59 years old and I come from Germany
My hometown is called Hameln, if you want to see where I live.
Last summer I bought a 1966 Olds Cutlass Supreme,
A dream came true for me, finally an American classic car.
I know that most Oldsmobile fans love 2 door ones, but I love the 4 door sedans.
The Olds came from Pennsylvania with the plate 798 - 75MEnough for a start, I'm looking forward to interesting information
Of course you are right. maybe it was the translation program.
My school English is quite good, but I still use it for grammar.
When the weather improves, I'll post more pictures soon, because I've made some changes to the car.
Many greetings to the States, Michael
Congratulations on your acquisition. Looks to be in great condition. Has the car been in Germany long? Any idea how it made its way over to Europe? I always find answers to these questions interesting.
Not only is your car a hardtop, but it is a four-door hardtop, one of the nicest styles ever produced, I think. The last year GM offered this style on any car was the 1976 full-size cars.
By the way, the term "hardtop" is actually short for "hardtop convertible." The reason is that, with the missing center pillar and all the windows rolled down, from any distance the car looks like a convertible with the top up.
In fact, Oldsmobile went further in promoting the fake-convertible look by adding ribs to the roof to make it look like a soft top with convertible brackets underneath.
I once owned a '64 Olds Jetstar 88 2-door hardtop, and it had these ribs. They're a little hard to see in the photo below, so I've added some red arrows pointing at them.
Congrats and welcome . A car like yours was the first Olds i drove in the late seventies , the only difference was the colour ( blue )
Nice to se your first name , a lot more intresting.
