NC 65 Delta 88

Just bought a 65 Delta 88, has 425 and basicly stock to include am radio. Has 77,000 miles but have been sitting up (under trees) for 4 years. Engine runs but carb has picked up alot of trash. Might need new gas tank, definantly a carb rebuild. Also some new tire and wheels. Any info on this beast is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the site! Please post some pictures when you have time. You can skim through the posts on the full sized car forum and look for your year of car. That would be a good place to start learning about it. Then as questions come up you can post them in that section. John

Welcome to CO. We have quite a few members with sixties era Delta/Delmont 88s here.

Sounds like a nice car. I've always thought the mid'60s full-size Olds ('65 and '66) were the cleanest looking of that decade.

I have a '67 Delta 88, and it has the same engine as yours. Mine has the 2-bbl carb, and I was able to get a rebuild kit for it right over the counter at my local Autozone. You'll find engine parts pretty easy to get for this car.

The gas tank is another issue. They're not made new for the full-size cars. If yours can't be fixed (what's wrong with yours, by the way?), your only hope is to find another one from a donor car. I don't know if any other years will fit on a '65.

if your tank doesn't have a hole in and just simple rust issues. i cleaned my tank out and i lined it to make sure it was sealed and cant pick up rust in the lines again.
