Joining the CO club

Joining after acquiring a low mileage original '73 Custom Cruiser.

May be looking for parts in the future, specifically the passenger side front fender lower trim piece.

Nice car! I've got a similar one:

As far as replacement parts, anything for the body and trim will have to come from a donor car as nothing like that for these cars is reproduced. Front end pieces can come from any '73 Delta 88, 98, or Custom Cruiser as these cars are all the same from the firewall forward. I'm not sure if pieces from other years of that body style will fit. Others on here will likely know.

Lots of us dig big.

Exactly which trim piece do you need? I have a junker 76 Cruiser that still has all the woodgrain outline trim though the diecast pieces aren't the best. Bound to think some of it crosses to the 73.

OK- the parts book goes weird on the 1976 piece. Your wagon is body style BR (B-body wagon with woodgrain).

74 book shows 73-74 BR wagons use 231544 RH, 231545 LH lower rear fender moulding.

The 76 book shows 231968 RH/ 231969 LH for 1976 BR, but it also shows 231544/231545 for BK which far as I know was never used as a body designation and I believe is a typo. So I'll hazard a guess that the 1976 moulding will work on your 73. It's yours if you want it, no charge. That way if it doesn't work you aren't out anything. Let me make sure I can remove it without damage first, then just tell me where to ship it.

Hey Rocket,

Wow! That is an extremely generous offer which I would be crazy not to accept. If possible, I would greatly appreciate the top portion of the drivers side fender trim, if that's available, too (included photo). I'm not sure of the best way for me to take care of the shipping costs, but I'm sure we can figure it out.

I've sent my contact and shipping info to your personal account

Thanks again

Can't promise the upper w/g outline moulding is the same as it has different part #s each year 71-76, but I'll send it along. It's these subtle differences that make the cars so difficult to source parts. The two pieces will ship easy enough in a standard mailing tube or PVC pipe.
