Hi all,
Hi all,
Sorry as I have been reading for the better part of 9 months. I am in BC Canada. I have a 1954 olds with a 324 and a 4 barrel 625 carb. I had what I thought was a lifter stick but it has turned into a little more. Anyway, I love classic cars. I am a red seal mechanic and I would say fairly capable of most repairs. Glad to be part of the club and may have some insights to offer as well.
I had a lifter where the pushrod sits actually come break inside. The clip was still there and the pushrod held all the components of the lifter inside it. It ran with a bad miss at low rpm but felt more like a collapsed lifter. I have since stripped it down and have ordered parts. Going with a mild cam, isky anti pump up lifters and sticking with the 650 carb for now. I want to build a dual quad intake carb system but not sure if it will fit under the hood (nothing big for hp just a cool factor)
