Hey Guys!

Hey everyone, so yeah im new to this site (and forums in general), I heard i could come here for some pro tips on re-building my car. OH YEAH, i have a 1962 Oldsmobile Cutlass Coupe. I really want to put in a manual tranny but cant seem to find any place that sells/builds them. any suggestions? Thanks!

Welcome.

You may be aware that the 215 in your car is the same engine used in Rovers for nearly four decades. GM sold the design and rights to Rover in 1966.

A friend of mine did exactly this swap in his 1962 convertible (along with adding a Jetfire turbocharged motor).

D&D Fabrications is the go-to vendor for 215 aluminum V8 parts. They sell a repro manual trans bellhousing.



They can help you source the other parts (at a price) though the manual trans conversion parts can be found used from members here and on ebay. The original trans is a Borg Warner T10. I'll be installing a T5 five speed in my 62 wagon using most of the factory manual trans parts.
