It all checks out. Lansing built, Y74, 4A date code.
Body plate:
3= Oldsmobile Division GMC
44= 442
67= Fisher code for convertible
LAN 409403= Lansing MI Fisher body assembly
970= black vinyl Strato-Bucket seats (not sure about the A; it may mean console. I'll defer to Kurt here- where's he been anyway?)
10= Porcelain White paint; A= white convertible top
4A= built 1st week April (the Pace Cars were built a couple months before the 500 to ensure having them available for the Festival)
Y74= Indy Pace Car package
VIN:
34467= see above
0= 1970
M= Lansing MI final assembly
Like Chevrolet, Oldsmobile did not indicate the factory engine installation in the VIN until 1972, but 1970 442 should have an F block 455. Look between the intake and water pump for the F. If car is W30 it will have an aluminum intake and F heads (look at lower left corner of heads for a letter about 1" tall). I think some 1970 442 Pace Cars came with the more common E heads and cast-iron intake, but I am admittedly more knowledgeable about the 1974 Pace Car program than 1970.
To check engine numbers, there is a machined pad on the LEFT FRONT SIDE of the engine, just below the cylinder head, that has a VIN derivative stamped into it. Should read 30M****** (last 6 digits of your VIN).
Someone (and I can't remember who) had the VIN list of all the actual 1970 Festival cars- the ones that were used at the track that year.
