Hey Guys

Hello....I'm new to this forum. Since I've been the owner of a 1971 Olds 442 for the last 12 years, I thought being on this forum might be appropriate for me. I'm hoping I can learn a few things I didn't know about my car and maybe find the best deals for buying new parts for it, since I'm in the beginning stages of restoring the car.

Has anyone here ever bought parts from Tamraz? And, are they any good? I know it will lower the value because they're not factory parts....but this isn't a problem for me because I'm not interested in selling the car. I'm just curious to whether or not the bumpers or fenders or wheel well moldings will fit correctly.

Welcome to the site! Most people here favor Fusick for aftermarket parts, but I know they don't make everything. Bumpers, I've never purchased aftermarket but some of the folks who have commented they're lighter weight than the factory ones. Fit? I don't know if you'll have an issue or not. Most comments about aftermarket fenders and body panels are not great. There have been several members comment it's better to keep the factory panel and make a patch panel from sheetmetal to replace the rusted out part. If you would add your location, city/state/country to your name you might find someone close by with access to good used parts. John

Welcome to CO. Hope you find the things you are looking for. I haven't purchased anything from Tamraz. I've ordered many things from Fusicks with no trouble though. I usually just keep an eye out locally for parts or parts cars. Good luck with your restore project.

Thanks guys. Seems like Fusick is the way to go. I used to see Fusick ads on Ebay, but in the last month or so, that I've been on Ebay looking for parts, I haven't seen any Fusick ads. They used to have a nice set of 442 grille panels that I really wanted.

What about the fibreglass hoods? Which company do you recommend for those? I have an ad I saved on my computer for a company called Thornton Reproductions, but they want $2500 for a hood.
