Hello from Maryland

I have a 1964 Olds 98 convertible. I only know I purchased it from a gentleman in Geogia who purchased it approximately 8 years ago at an auction in Branson, Missouri. At that time it had an Arizona title but that is where the trail goes cold. It was originally a medium blue metallic but is now turqoise with white leather interior and top. I believe the former owner prior to Georgia did a body on restoration. It looks very good but has some flaws. Does anyone know of a good mechanic in the Baltimore Washington area that specializes in older V 8 vehicles? Thanks so much.

Welcome. I spent my first 50 years between Baltimore and Annapolis, moved to WV ten years ago. Can't help you with an old school mechanic, do my work myself.
Get a factory Chassis Manual and the Fischer body manual. Even if someone else does the work, they most likely will not have the manual.

There is a guy near me you could talk to but it would be over an hour away on the Eastern Shore.

I did use Executive radiator and Glen Burnie carb and generator when I was there. The carb place existed for 30-40 years, passed from father to son and was very good. If Butch is still owner he is excellent with old iron.

Welcome to the site. Fine ride you have. This is THE PLACE for all things Oldsmobile. I'm sure you'll get and give knowledge and help to us all.

Give us some more pictures and body plate information when you get a chance.

Welcome! Very nice ride! There are OCA chapters in Greater DC and Northern Maryland that may be able to help you finding a reputable sort to work on your car -

Welcome. I'm late coming in here because I wanted to chase down the name of a repair shop in MD. I do all of my own work, so I have no personal experience with shops, but several members of our club use Looper ServiceCenter in Rockville, MD.

Address: 324 N Stonestreet Ave, Rockville, MD 20850

Phone: (301) 762-9333

I'll also invite you to join Capitol City Rockets, which is the DC-area chapter of the Olds Club of America. We have members distributed around the DC Beltway, so we alternate meetings between Springfield, VA and Rockville, MD. The Oct meeting is in Rockville on Sun Oct 9. We also have a road trip planned to White Post Restorations in VA in Nov.
