Greetings from Sweden

Hi, I am an Olds owner living in Sweden. I have an 442 W-30 coupe from 1970 and it´s actually sold as new over here. It has about 70000 km (42000 miles) on the clock, but there is plenty of work to do. It is rather untouched and that is good. But the climate during wintertime was not good for the car the first years of it´s life.

I have had it for more than 10 years, but it has felt unreliable with constant tendencies to overheating, so I have not driven it much. Now with kids, where the smallest is teenager since a couple of years and getting more and more independant, I feel that the time has come to do a restoration of it.

So in this forum I hope for many valuable contacts and good advices how to do in different situations of the restoration.

Hej!
Welcome to Classic Olds! What area of Sweden are you in? I have been there a few times and enjoyed it.
Post a thread about the overheating problem and provide info on actual temps, when it occurres, etc, and i am sure we can help you fix it. Overheating in Sweden, it must be a very bad obvious problem. Thermostat could be stuck closed...
Post some pics of your car soon!

Thank You. Glad to hear that You liked Sweden. I am living in Linköping, about 200 km southwest from Stockholm. Have You visited Power Big Meet when You were here? With 14 000 american cars.

I will post a overheating thread, presenting all actions I have done. And that is quite a lot. The only problem is that my dismantling has gone too far, I cannot test all the advices that I will receive.

Yes, the speedo is in km and also the odometer.
The original color is copper with black stripes, but the car is repainted once during it´s life and then got black with golden stripes.
I will restore to the original color.
