Grandpas Cutlas
I am preparing to rebuild my a 1964 Cutlas my grand father purchased new in Fredricktown, PA. The VIN number is: 824M247417, Style: 64-3237, Body: LA18937, Trim:965, Paint: L-L. The car has bucket seats with console and tach. The enginer air cleaner has the Ultra High Compression decal on it. Please help me with the following questions:
1> What car do I have?
2> Which engine is it?
3> I am planning to do a body off and would like to end up with a nice driver. I am hoping to keep as much original as possible but am not building a show car. Please let know some good sources for parts as the car is in poor condition.
Thanks

A lot of people (myself included) on here use Fusick's for parts. The do nothing but Oldsmobiles and are great folks. There are a number of other companies who are also good but Fusick' is probably the most comprehensive. You can download their catalog online. Welcome and good luck with you car. It is neat that it has been in your family since new.

Welcome aboard! I like family hand me downs too. I have a 63 Riviera that my grandmother purchased new and know it's entire history. Do you have any of the original paperwork from when Grandpa purchased it?
