Rookie 66 442 owner
Greetings, my name is Chauncey I'm a Navy Vet and I have recently acquired a black 1966 442 hardtop 4 speed with a 455 engine Growing up my father was a Buick man, but he always told me that Oldsmobile were the innovators of GM. I joined Classic Olds to gain information about this "Beast" that I own. Prior to purchasing this 442 I owned a 1972 Boattail that I sold about a year ago.
Welcome to the site Chauncey! Tell us more about your cars condition. Does it need a major restoration, fully restored, or somewhere in between? Also please post some pictures when you have time. John
Welcome to CO! Some good folks in the Seattle area belong to the local Oldsmobile Club there; listed on the Oldsmobile Club of America website, they meet once a month, and hosted the 2005 Nationals in Seattle. Gearheads78 has a '67 that is awesome, and I'm sure he can give you great advice on how to spend money!
First, welcome from a retired Army guy! Browse around- no matter what you need to know, there are resources and members here for whatever you need to know! One thing is below:
What he's saying is that the 455 wasn't the original motor. '65-67s only came w/ 400. Still, congrats on your choice & post pics!
