Awesome car, I'm incredibly jealous. My dad gave me his '69 Cutlass S but it ain't no H/O! I also agree with keeping it how it is, just with the needed TLC to get it reliable and roadworthy. I about passed out the 1 time I ever saw a 69 Hurst/Olds in person and it was mint, but I gotta say I think I woulda liked it even more if it was original and a bit crusty. I think that driving a super rare fully restored 100% perfect car of that rarity would be so stressful it'd just end up in the garage, or you wouldn't enjoy it as much. It'd be the kinda car you only park in the garage, and don't leave it in a parking lot for more than 30 seconds.

WOW.. say thanks to dad.. My dad was a musician, never into cars.. so nothing to leave to me.. BUT i plan on leaving my 68 to my son who is helping me restore it.. so.. maybe he will have a story like yours.. !!! anyway.. welcome.. you got all the guys here drooling.. that is an amazing car. Hopefully your dad can help you with the restore..( Just don't let him take it back !!! ) LOL..
