66 & 67 cutlass compatibility

Greetings All,

I'm new to this site and I'm a 1st time olds owner. I have a 67 cutlass and I need a lot of the chrome trim pieces to make the car complete. There is a 66 442 in my area and my question is, will the chrome trim pieces from the 66 fit the 67? Like the chrome guards that go over the rear tail lights, quarter panel chrome, badges, etc. I'm also looking for a Louvre hood but those seem so elusive...Any help would be great!

Other than the trim around the windshield, rear glass and top trim most other bright trim and chrome differs between the 2 years.

I have a dozen 67 CutlassSupreme/442 and vistas I'm parting out in Austin, Tx. Local pickup only.

It would help too if you could let us know if your Cutlass is a Supreme as trim is different.

irkennedy welcome to CO. I have a '67 that I'm in the process of fitting the chrome on right now. Unfortunately there's not too much that is interchangable between the'66 and '67. The window trim may be the same but I can tell you for a fact all the lower, front, trunk, tail light chrome is different. Google search images of the two and it will become clear to you. I do have some extra pieces, they are driver quality. I have a good core pair of bumpers. You may want to place an ad in the parts wanted section, and scour the For Sale section. There's a couple guys parting out '67s right now. I know Greg Godon had some stuff for a '67 for sale you may want to shoot him a PM - https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...s/rcktdoc.html

Thanks guys! The owner said its an F85 but I'm not sure if that's accurate seeing that I haven't seen any 67 F85 in my research. Anyway to know the difference?

f85 series was the base model. There will not be any side moldings on it.
Cutlass was the next trim level and will have a thin horizontal molding down the side of the car.
Cutlass Supreme is the top model and will have wide body side molding the length of the car.
442 was based on the CUtlass Supreme trim level.

According to your description it is an F85...I am thinking of doing a 442 Clone since I have already swapped the motor and trans out so I'll need the 442 trim. Anybody have an eye on a Louvre hood?

JMO I would keep it stock since you don't see a lot of F-85s anymore

Welcome to CO

An f85 body does not make for a good/true 442 clone in 67 as all of the 442's were based on Cutlass Supreme trim.
