I've got a '71 Cutlass S, and looking at a '72 Supreme parts car as a potential donor, but I'm not sure what parts I'll be able to actually use and need some help in that regard for some specific items (as well as generalities)

- Bumpers, front and rear
- Stone guard
- Windshield
- Fenders

Suggestions on other parts to consider would be appreciated.

Also, it has a running 403 and a TH350/400 trans...any suggestions on the value of these, or the going price for good grills?

If I'm gonna convince SWMBO to go along with this, I need to be able to recover the purchase cost and make the car gone quickly!

 

Almost everything will fit:

Trunk will not
Rear package tray will not

 

Everything will interchange except rear quarter panels, trunk lid and rear window. There are some differences in some parts for different year/models, like tailights, grills and interior designs. Everything you mentions should be the same for both year/models. The fenders will have differnt piercing for different emblems and trim. The 72 supreme grill is repoped so they are not hard to come by.

 

Great, thanks for the input! I did look in classifieds and saw that original used grill pairs seem go for under $100. The big thing for me (apart from the bumpers and windshield) are all the small parts that can nickel and dime you to death.

My '71 is complete but has a lot of wear.

 

And rear quarter windows?

 

I've got a grinder and crayons, I'm sure I could make the quarter window fit.

Are the doors and door glass the same? No posts...

 

Rear quarter glass is different but the regulators are the same. Doors are the same.
