64 Jet to restore or sell?!
Hello guys, I had bought a 64 Jetstar 88, 2 door hardtop a while back and am just now getting a garage and place where I can tie into it, but now I'm contemplating selling it as is? Think I'll need new front fenders and other pieces, any thoughts on what it might be worth to sell it as is? Picture is enclosed, it still runs drives etc, just needs some body work......
I owned an identical car, body-style-wise, back in the 1990s.
Fender and other body parts are not reproduced, but this car shares these with the other 88's (Dynamic 88 and Super 88) and the Starfire and Jetstar I of that year, so parts from any of those could be made to work.
The car looks pretty good in that photo, yet you say it needs new fenders and quarters? Why? Rusty, or just dented? Dents can possibly be fixed, as can rust if not too serious.
The Old Cars Price Guide lists the value of a '64 Jetstar 88 2-door hardtop in #4 condition (runs and drives but needs full restoration) at $3600. In #3 condition ("car show" condition but not showroom condition), the value shown is $8,100. Your car is likely worth somewhere in between depending on its particulars.

It is a great looking car and they can get up and go. I vote keeping it.
What are your issues? I don't know the whole story. That car is fun to drive on the open road and pushing its limits.

Main issues are rust on the front fenders, right where your hood hinges come in.....they've ripped out. I vote for resto to, just was worried about finding front fenders and thought I'd spend the rest of my days in junkyards looking for a parts car. Interior is great, original everything, hasn't been hacked or cut on....she still runs and drives smooth. I'd given thought to putting a late model motor in her, but like the original setup to. Closing on a house in a couple weeks where I'll have space to get her in and start breaking things apart this winter....Appreciate the feedback!
