62 Starfire
Hi All.
Slowly beginning the reassembly process on our nut and bolt resto on a 1962 Starfire Convertible.
have a problem with the transmission breather pipe.
The original on our car had the cannister at the top of the pipe broken off.
I sourced a replacement breather pipe from a guy in the US a long time ago but there seems to be no way that it will line up with any mounting bolts etc.
Is it possible that I received a pipe assembly from an F85 instead of a full size car? On
Also, where can I get the large plastic plugs that cover the holes at the top of the firewall each side.
Any help gratefully appreciated.
Cheers.

Welcome. Unfortunately, there aren't many parts reproduced for your car. You'll have to find a salvage car. Check here:
Desert Valley Auto Parts (dvap.com)
CTC Auto Ranch
For the limited parts that might be available check here:
Classic Car Parts – Kanter Auto
www.fusickautomotiveproducts.com
Be aware that the OE transmission in your Oldsmobile is the Slim Jim Rotohydramatic. If there's any car that deserves retaining the Slim Jim it's a Starfire, but there are very few places left in the U.S. that could reliably service that transmission. Check here for parts.

Slim Jim breather tube.
The breather tube has a bracket at the top with 2 holes.
1 hole appears to slip over the filler/dip stick tube and the other should go under a head bolt but there is no way it will line up with both holes.
The bracket and the does not seem to have been bent or twisted from new so this is why I suspect it is for another application.
The plugs are the 2 large ones, approx 3.5" at each top corner of the firewall.
Cheers.
