1968 engine recommendation

Hey guys, after several days researching the site I️ found myself in a dilemma here. I️ recently pickup a 68 holiday supreme i want to upgrade the engine and transmission money is not a factor however I’m not looking to build a high performance car. So if you guys could be kind enough to offer a few suggestions for engine and trans which will make for an easy swap. Thank you

What do you mean by "upgrade"?
What engine does the car currently have?
What are you wanting - high miles per gallon, simple maintenance, or ???

Find a 455 and TH400 combo and rebuild both with performance in mind. Or an early 400 from a 65-67 442. Keep in mind a 350/TH350 combo can be built to run well.
Since you say you have deep pockets if you really want to go fast call Bill at BTR. He'll figure out something for you. Consider a Tremec 6 speed stick...and a rear end upgrade.

If your not building for performance, why not rebuild what you have?

Simple and reliable. A nearly stock 455 with a built 200r4 trans and mid 3 rear axle. Lots of seat of the pants performance and will cruise easy on the hi way with decent mileage.
