Engine Stand Recommendation

Going to pull the engine from my 72 W30 soon and need to get an engine stand. Anyone have a suggestion what to buy? I want something that will hold my big block reliably but I don't want to break the bank on it either.

Thanks,
Steve

Harbor Freight makes a 1000lb stand for around $50. Reinforce where the rear wheels attach to the upright with u-bolts and two home made steel plates.

engine stand

X2 on the 4 wheel engine stand you wont be sorry. Harbor freight has one with fold up legs so when your done with your project its easier to store.

Northern tool has a folding four wheel one that I have had a 400 pontiac and 455 olds on with no problems . I would look into one with a splash tray if you have a nice floor.

I bought the Harbor Freight 4 wheel 1000lb and so far it is doing fine. Just remember to lube the head or it's almost impossible to rotate (don't ask how i know (ha))
