I think those Mustang 2 front ends are welded to the frame after cutting off the front part of the old frame. You would have to be a pretty good fabricator to do that.

Here is a couple of picture on the conversion in my 48 series 76 (same frame as yours). This was installed by the previous owner who did a nice job

Those are some cool pics Pat. I guess that proves that it can be done. You would have to be the MAN to do it though.

I saw that front end when Pat breezed by last year after he bought that car. The work looks pretty solid to me.

Citcapp, are the engine mounts for a BBO? If so, Could you provide a measurement from center of mount to center of MII crossmember please.

Also, I'm looking for an original brake pedal assembly for my '47 60 series from a hydramatic equipped car. I'd like to do my brakes under the floor.

Thanks for any help.

Yes it's set up for a 455. I'll take the measurement this evening and post it. You could go with a after market hotrod under the floor set up either power or non-power both are available. I found a few on the internet when I was looking around. I decided to go with a hanging pedal setup on my 48. We'll have to get together this spring or summer and compare notes on our builds

6" to the center of the mount from the front cross member

12-1/1" from the "Y" in the frame froward to the center of the motor mount

Pat, a little clarification on the measurements. Was the 6" from center of crossmember to center of mount? Or 6" to the closest edge of the crossmember?

I have to admit I was at a loss to know what 12-1/1" is. Help me out a bit please. I do appreciate that you thought of giving two measures to better locate.

6" from the edge of the cross member to the center of the motor mount

the 12-1/2" measurment is from the V of the X member of the frame where it junctions with the straight frame rail
