New HEI distributor

Hi All;
I have a 1969 442 [with a 1976 455 engine]. I have rebuilt the engine...now putting it all back together. I want to be sure the new HEI distributor will work with the original tic-toc-tach. The link to the distributor I have is below. I know it has a "tach" connection on it...but is it compatible with my tach?

also...is there a way to test my tic-toc-tach to be sure it works? [it did not work with my old HEI distributor, so I'm not sure if the problem is in the tach or in the distributor.

I would have to believe your tach is compatible, I put an HEI in my 65 and the original tach works the same as it did with points.

I just upgraded from a 350 with original ignition toa 455 with HEI and the tic toc works fine. Just plug the tach wire into the tach connection on the HEI. Accel makes a slick littel plug in adapter so you can splice the wire then plug n play.

Your tach may have the inline fuse holder feeding it, backside of dash. Easy to check and fix if blown.
