Started on my 65 442

Well start restore getting ready for trunk and floor pans. Removed wiring and dash for the dash panal to be welded in out of another 65 floor and dash that came with the car. Finished removing interior and door glass. The engine was just setting on blocks so that is out and getting cleaned up and checked for cracks on the block and heads.

Well it came from south but I think it spend part of its life in it. The defrost vent and top section of the dash was gone. The fire wall is solid though.

I will be watching this thread, nice beginning. I'm assuming your going to restore to original as possible? My 64 was a metal disaster too.

I want it as original as can. My son is welding in the trunk pans and braces today so I will post those pics soon. On another note, my block and heads are cleaned up with no cracks. And I found all the parts I need for these "A" heads so the engine is progressing too.

Sounds like you'll be caught up to me and beyond my 64 build pretty quickly... I'll be checking in regularly.

You are correct. I saw it there too.
I bought it from a guy near Nashville, and drug it home to Texas. Sold it later, with a bunch of other parts to a guy not to far from me.
Glad to see it is getting restored.
