pulley and brackets

swapped out 330 for the 455, changed water pump, trying to put on power steering and alternator bracket but coming up short 3/8 in to line up threads and tight as hell on valve cover(ok). thinking because of edelbrock performer manifold? not liking fit, also water plug right there where bracket bolts on manifold(in pic), flat plug? what am I missing? plasma a notch for manifold clearance on bracket?

I'm glad you got it resolved, but when you have everything bolted on the engine would you share pictures with us? The early 400 was used the same time as the 330 and the exterior of the 400 is the same as a 455. So I would have thought the brackets would interchanged. Maybe it was the aftermarket intake? What did you decide? John

no doubt it was the after market manifold, had to cut off corner of bracket to fit over runner on intake bolt, also had to cut small amount of pad where bolt goes thru onto manifold for alternator bracket. easy fix.
