The old girl needed a "Heart Transplant"

12 years ago I picked up a very nice driver, 1972 Supreme convertible. It was a very original car with some "B" grade body work done to it. No serious rust issues, just a few bubbles in the door bottoms and quarters behind the wheels.Stainless and chrome in nice shape. So 10 years ago I began lurking on this site, just trying to take it all in. Started with the body....stripped it down to bare metal, found no rust other than mentioned above, just a lot of wrinkles smoothed over with bondo. My brother, a welder by trade, cut and patched where needed, then it was hammer and dolly with a dose of heat here and there. Finally a friend sprayed, cut and buffed to what I have now (as you can see I did take some liberties with the stripes and badges). While at the body shop, a vendor, wanting to promote his services offered to re-dye the top for $100 (couldn't get the money out of my pocket fast enough) Next, interior from Legendary, gauges from Speed Hut. Finally, did the "Heart Transplant" with an engine from Cutlassefi (Mark Remmel) what a difference! You may remember Mark discussing this build. https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...ally-done.html. The install was basically "plug and play" Just a few days for a couple of nearly 70 year olds. I apologize for not recognizing every member that I gathered information/ideas from, just let me say, this job would never have gotten to this point without you!

Thanks everyone....Thanks Classic Oldsmobile

It’s hard to believe that top is at least 25 years old....I wish I could remember the name of the product it was dyed with, the dye job is 4 years old. According to the data tag, it was born with a green top.
