installed the air cleaner tag. with thanks to jstrits for sending me the location of the tag after measuring the location on his original oai cleaner with the O N tag
Car is looking REAL good. have not been on here much as I'm knee deep in a 70 for myself. it has been 10 years since the last gold interiored (new word) olds I restored and I forgot what gold I used for the plastic parts (console ,seat backs, kick panels etc) Could I ask what you used?

How did you secure the body to the rotisserie? I've just got a rotisserie and need to attach my body with out the frame.

Thanks,

Body mounts

o. k. 70 w-30 here are a few picture's I took and downloaded for u, I used spacers on the extension arms as so there would be space for me to paint and sand on the bottom side I used some 2" aluminum pipe I cut 3" long on the front and some washers on each side of the pipe to keep the pipe from bending in the area were the body mounts go. on the back arms I use some large sockets putting the flat of the socket on the body and some washers also, also fabricated two gussets on the front arms that I came remove if I need to. the center of gravity is just above the 4 screw hole on the fire wall that hold the accelerator pedal, and the rear center is even with the lip were the trunk pan and the tail pan meet. there are people on this sight that will insult your intelligents if u ask were the center of gravity is on the car so I just thought I would give u that information.

floor boards

got to put some paint on the floor boards Monday, used some high heat rust-oleum (satin black) $14.00 a Qt. part #7778502. I used this paint on the inner floor boards as a protection paint and not for looks but the sheen and finish looks just as good as the exterior floors that I used the Sems satin paint kit I paid $85.00 a kit for.

I thinned the rust-Oleum 10% to spray it out on the first coat and let it flash dry for 50 minutes the first pic. is the paint wet the second is after one day of drying.

weeks of work

it has been a few weeks since I did any update on c o so here are a few things that had been done

blasted my radiator support and upper radiator retainer in the process of blasting I came across a few good factory markings of which I have pictured below the marking look to be E C for the rad, code and RH not sure what this represents and on the main rad. support is the number 79 and what looks like 9 with a degree symbol in an draw box, if any one cam comment on what they are please post your comments and thoughts on what they represent.

managed to get every thing that I wanted to blast done and got them etch and primed sanded yesterday and this morning and this afternoon got to put some paint on the rad. support and cover to early to tell the final outcome put I think they are satisfactory considering the way the factory paint was that I removed.

started working on the final major body panel, the hood witch I have striped and found a few small spots that my body man said we will need to put a covering of jel-coat on they are just three small spots about the size of your thumb. we have three coats of primer on it and have done one blocking pass on it.

Don't know much about the markings but the car is coming along nicely. The core support looks to be in great condition. What paint did you use on that and did you etch prime all your blasted parts or do you use epoxy primer also?

I used sems hot rod black it is a very good satin black paint that comes in a kit with one quart of paint and one 8 oz. can of activator and one 8 oz. can of reducer the best price I found for this paint is from Summit racing free shipping and is mixed 4 to 1 to 1 , I did etch prime all the metal parts that I blasted with Nason etch primer followed by Nason epoxy primer as per Nason recommendations this is a paint that you can clean and wash as needed hope this helps you

Trunk hinges were painted with the trunk lid on.

The trunk striker was painted with the body, and then got some trunk paint over spray.

The body from the firewall back was dipped in a primer vat. Original cars have lots of drips due to this.

thanks for the heads up on the paint procedure, I do plan to install the trunk lid for painting, as for dipping you r correct when it came to blasting the firewall and bottom of the car there were many runs, but in a restoration know one duplicates these

Glad to hear things are moving forward. I look but don't always post. I have backed off the internet as a hole myself. I am still on here much more than I should be but spending much more time with my kids lately. If you get a chance I am sure many people would love to see pictures.
