I got a 350 rocket out of a 76 cutlass its carbarated and I'm trying to put it in a 1985 442 its fuel injected and I'm wondering if I need to switch the computer and ECU

 

Mark, sorry you didn't get a reply earlier. If you use the engine from the 76 Cutlass it will swap into your 85 442 without any problems. Just make sure you use the distributor and carburetor from the 76 Cutlass.

 

The 350 will swap in without any issues, brackets, accessories, exhaust, trans will all bolt up with no problems. As stated above use the distributor and carb from the 350 the carb and distributor are computer controlled on the 85 so you either use the non computer controlled carb and dist or you use the computer controlled carb and dist but you can't mix and match it's either all or nothing.

My question is how is our 85 442 fuel injected?
