Greg’s ‘69 442 4 Speed Frame Off

After six years in the works I finally finished my 69. It is a 4 speed bench seat with a/c power antenna, rear window defogger, stereo radio, manual drum brakes and Raylle pac gauges. Now that it’s done I figured I would start a thread and show the process. While I have a lot of pictures I took along the way going through them now I wish I would have taken more to show the detail of all the little things I did. I fell victim to being so excited to get things done and installed on the car I didn’t take as many pics as I like. I’ll try and roll out the pics in some sort of order. I’ll start off with the finished product then go from the start. Hope you enjoy!

Waited six years for this picture.

Here are a few before pics and after water blasting. After blasting it needed 1/4s, trunk floor, front floor pans, tail panel and package tray. Also has the usual rust in the dash. The fenders were nos from 1982 and I still have the receipt for the $100 they cost! They just needed some minor repair.

Getting the 1 piece trunk floor fitted.

As you know they don’t make a 1 piece floor for the olds so I used a chevelle floor and seemed at the brace.

Inner wheel house and drop off.

Making the seams nice in the trunk. Glad that is over. Hated laying in the trunk!

On to the under side. Preparing the underside was by far one of my least favorite things.

WOW, impressive, you've done an amazing job! So did it come from the factory bench seat and 4 speed? I was around back then and I don't recall seeing that maybe ever. Looking forward to more pics.

Why do you still have X-Mas decorations still up? Is this a North of Rt. 40 thing?

Well sir the picture was taken when I first brought it home in December. It must be something in that beard that picks up on the Christmas decorations though…

The car is damn nice and congrats on a great job. Did you give Max any credit? I see those Maxwell coffee cans and was wondering if that was his credit.
