To answer your question is this going to be a daily driver? No, I am fortunate enough to have a new Tahoe to use as my daily driver however, I plan on using this car with my family as much as I can. I have also spent a lot of time and money on the a/c system and feel the dynamat will help with that as well. For as nice as I have tried to make it and the long hours I spent doing it I am not going to sit back and just look at it and not enjoy it. Not saying I am using it in the rain and snow obviously.
As far as the originality goes, I hope you can see in this thread originality is important to me as I spent many hours of research and effort to make it as correct as I could. I guess you can say I took some “liberties” by adding dynamat but in my opinion it is something that after it’s installed it will never be seen after the carpet is installed. Not sure if you have an old car but I guess what you are also saying is that if you rebuilt the motor and bored it, changed the nylon timing chain with a roller, changed the Valve seats with hardened ones or changed to camshaft for a modern grind that would be taking the originality away as well… I guess for me there is a fine line on upgrades.
BTW if you user name has anything to do with Grand Nationals, I love those and miss mine dearly. My advice if you have one keep it!

Absolutely understand all of your very valid points. And you are spot on with my username. I bought mine in '96 and spent many hours at the drag srtip and on the Power Tour. 12.20 was the fastest I got it with all stock components and I was on my way to the 11's. I even discovered it was built on June 29th, my birthday. I planned to keep that car forever but unfortunately circumstances somewhat beyond my control dictated a sale. I still follow the car (well, the owner) on Facebook and have first right of refusal to buy it back. He was ready to sell a couple years ago and then backed out. I still have my fingers crossed and this is one reason I'd like to sell my Cutlass as I can't afford both .
Last weekend I took it to its first show. The LI/NYC Olds spring dust off. It was a fun day and Won 1st in Class and Best in Show. It was definitely a proud moment after all the work! P.S. that’s my brothers black 70 W30 next to it.
Really enjoyed the car today. First went to breakfast with my daughter, then to the bank, Home Depot and then dinner with my wife and a quick stop at a local cruise night.

When I first bought my project, my wife would say things like "you going outside to work on your car again?" or "boy you sure spend a lot of time on that car" after I got paint on it and it was shiny she then would say "how's our car?" or "I really like our car's color" As it starts to come together now she says stuff like "how's my car?" "I cant wait to drive my car to work" "Everyone at work wants to see my car"................

Lol my wife referred to mine as “Christine” while it was in pieces in the garage. She was always supportive for the whole time as she knew it was like a therapy for me. In the end she loves it and always compliments me on how nice it came out. She does want to drive it but I have been holding off on that one lol
