I did swap out the battery tube for one of Brandon Reynolds correct tubes. And to answer the question sure to come up… no it is not the correct 1100852 alternator. Still searching for one with the correct date code. Car was built 2nd week of September ‘68

A few detail items that went in.

Original tic toc tach cleaned up nice.

I was able to save the original “inspected by” tag and reinstall on the rear defogger.

Original door has this number on it so I replicated it after restoring the glove box door.

Next on to some pictures of the chassis. Everything was powder coated, Frame, control arms, differential, sway bars. This was another favorite part of the project. Lots of nice pieces to install and get instant gratification!

I completely disassembled the steering box and pump and rebuilt both. Was a very fun project!

The original air cleaner was very nice on this car. It was cool to see the original marks from the jig that held them when they were painted originally. You can see them circled in the picture. We recreated that when we painted it again. Also, a thank you to junior supercar for his awesome reproduction decals he made with the correct code for the air cleaner…

Next up some pics of the restored evaporator case. I converted over to R134. I feel some of the original stuff is better than the new garbage of today so I had the original evaporator core and expansion valve flushed and tested. I am happy to say the car now has ice cold A/C!

On to the seat belts. They were sent out for all new webbing, chrome plating on D rings, date coded tags and buckle restoration. Very happy with the finished product.

I decided to go with Gardner exhaust with their turbo muffler option. I has the pleasure of driving upstate NY and personally picking up the system. They gave me a tour of the facility and it is impeccable. They are the nicest bunch of guys. It was well worth the trip. Needless to say the exhaust fit perfect.

Here are some pics of the restored drive shaft. It was still evident where the original stripes were on the drive shaft so I put them back in the same location.

Love, love, love it! Love everything about your car; the color, the stance, the redlines, and the work you did--all superb.

By the way, every photograph of your hands with the exception of one (you holding the air breather cover) show your nails squeaky clean. Are you sure you did all this work you have claimed?

lol yes I am very proud to say the only thing I didn’t do myself is the final paint and body work and wet sand and polish (did the sheet metal work myself), headliner, seat covers, my brother rebuilt the Muncie and installed the gears in the diff. I grew up in the business as my dad had a repair shop ( that is him in my profile pic working in a olds dealership in the late 60’s early 70’s). I have since moved on to other work However my brother still has a shop. I was taught to try and work “clean” and do like to wear the nitrile gloves. A lot of the pics you see are at and inside my house. My wife has been a saint with car parts spread all over the house for 6 years

One cool thing I left on the car after restoration was my high school parking pass on the rear view mirror. Scott Winn did and awesome restoration of the map light mirror and left the original parking pass in tact. I didn’t take any pics after restoration but I will post some later.

I also did every wire harness new from Lectric Limited. Here are a few pics of the fuse box. Every harness matched up to factory and fit perfect. I would highly recommend them…

Here are some pics of the rims getting painted, tires mounted and this may sound crazy but one of my favorite pictures of the wheel on the chassis.
