[quote=68442olds;218077]I have not used por15, but I have heard it is a really good product for doing just what we are talking about. Yes, I would say that is a very good way to restore the frame, or whatever for that matter. I know it works real good on a old battery tray that you can't purchase anymore, it is an excellent product for that for sure. Obviously there is always more than one way to do a restoration of any kind. I think a lot of times, especially now day's, it's just trying to do it right and be able to afford it along the way, so the project stay's fun. I love your car Joe, Mike Johnson

This is where im confused about what to use down the road when I rip my 72 CS apart, I hear good and bad about POR-15 on this site , leaving me unsure what to use. Having to do it over because the paint is peeling off is not an option for me.
BTW....Awesome car DK-52

Man I'll tell you what, I would love to get back into this game. I never had the place to do this kind of work. And now with a daughter in college it will be difficult. I have a weird question, I found a cutlass that came standard with a 6 cyl. auto, buckets, console, convertible, super stock 1's. Most would probably throw a V8 in, production was something like 234. Would this be considered a rare car? Also, I really love the color of your car. Thanks, Brian

Thank you Dave, for the info! As for the 4OW on the trans, I did not know there would be a marking like that on the trans. I'm guessing, I probably used a cleaner or chemical that dulled or took off alot of the original color when I cleaned it. I scrubed for what seemed like forever. Thanks again, Dan

My w-30 trans has OW on the bell housing....but it is sort of on a slant....and if I recall correctly is it an orange paint (at least I think it was) or something like it. Car is in storage so can't get to it now.....plus it is too darn cold to crawl under.
