Only had 1 can of trunk paint figured I'd get a light coat on before the topcoat window closed and I would have to sand it down.
Unfortunately, it appears it's no longer available from Eastwood.
Got a kit coming from Thorton to finish it.
here in mass weve been seeing nightime temps in the mid 30s w several predictions for snow showers in the coming days.
I have a nice HD75 propane heater, so with luck I will be blocking and moving on to the fenders hood and trunk and have everything ready for painting in the spring.
Hope to have the engine back from dyno in the next couple of weeks.
The plan is to put the engine and tranny in, put the radiator support in and start fitting the hood, doors, and fenders. (Hopefully by Christmas)
I was lucky enough to have a 50 yr veteran body man over to give some tips on the bodywork. ( This is sh....t I think was his first comment). Jeez ... Tell me how you really feel.
Hopefully, he set us on the right track.
It's nice to have a straight shooter that knows what he's doing.
You are learning so much, not to mention this manual work should help keep your body in shape.
Did not know spray booth bounce house is a thing. Pretty cool. I used to hang tarps under carports, or even worse, just paint completely exposed outside and hope for the best.
Almost time to reassemble to frame. That will be cause for a celebratory beer or two.

Hoping to put the engine and tranny in before mating the frame to the body. With luck that will be in the next month or so.
Got the trunk brace in and the trunk lid close to being lined up.
I was very concerned that I wouldn't be able to get the brace and catch lined up properly but it wasn't as bad I thought.
Needs a little cleanup but it's now functional.
The post on the rotisserie blocked access to the trunk keyhole so I made a tool to unlock it through the back seat.
That looks much better, and better price for shims than the 2 for $29 you had posted.
i just noticed you have the antennae hole on the rear fender, did you add that or was it like that?
Yup 10 bucks for 144.
The hole was there, covered with Bondo if I remember correctly.
Thinking of putting a power antenna there. Any suggestions on a compatible power antenna?
Taking a little break from bodywork and trying to get the chassis ready.
Had to make a bracket and modify the brake lines to accommodate the rear discs.
Stripped the fenders that I picked up, one was in very good shape.
The other not so much. paid top dollar for a pair of fenders with "No bondo"
Check your purchases carefully.
The door patches ended up being more of a challenge than I thought.
One area I tried patching was so bad I cut it out and started again. (Remembered a trick from this video
)
The second patch came out pretty good but attaching it was tricky.
Ugly patch kept burning through trying to attach to various old thin rusted areas Start of patch tacked in attaching each a few layers detach patch weld inside and out much better than the disaster I cut out from the first attempt tacked back in to cut and add a top section
Man you have been on a tear!! Great work spent the evening getting all caught up on this build , great work !! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the kind words, it's nice to see you back.
Trying to spend at least an hr or two a day to keep things moving.
Unfortunately not much done this weekend (besides dealing with the foot of snow)
