70 Cutlass S Build
Very nice work Shane, I just saw your build for the first time. I've picked up a lot of pointers for my car. Hoping to send mine to paint soon. I was amused by your comments on choosing black. I have been the same with mine. I get so wishy washy. It is black black black and then I start second guessing myself. After seeing yours it is definitely black!
Wow , outstanding ! I really like how that motor is looking . I haven't been here or anywhere else for a while , because I'm trying to get my car in some kind of presentable shape myself .... Spring is right around the corner .
Looking realy good. New here but long time builder. I am starting mine noe too. (agian) Starting with a 4 door front end, 70 W30 mess, and a body from a 442. Picking up a motor this week end for it.
Please keep the pics coming and post how tos please.

Manual Transmission.........that's cool.
That's the only way to go in a W Machine,.... automatics are for girls....... in my opinion anyway
I can't wait to get our Orange car back on the street........with the 4 gear in it again
Dave
P.S. Don't forget to drop by and see us on one of your "border runs"

Today was the day that i started to put my new TKO 600 into the car. I had an extra 350 block kicking around so i thought i would use it to make the mock up easier. It was nice putting the motor in and not worry about all the extra stuff getting hung up or scratching something. I knew the trans would be coming out again anyway to weld up the hole in the floor. Speaking of the hole in the floor..... It was a bit bigger than i expected, but oh well it's still not that bad. I had to drill 2 new holes in the frame for the trans cross member, but i knew that going in. I almost for got that the shifter position is probably around 1/2" out from the original location.

Wow really? i wish i was that lucky! I have no idea why, but i have seen all different size hole sizes, it seems like no 2 cars are the same. I kept cutting a little at a time, and then trying to slide the trans cross member underneath until it was able to slide under and get the mount bushing in.
