1970 442 W30 post
Have not posted in awhile, spring and summer have taken tons of time away from all of us.....needless to say did not make the homecoming, but the car is making progress.....painted and cleared, motor is done and starting to detail.....Hope to go back south in the next weekend or so and get the motor installed and fired, so the front clip can be final installed....
Yes,the notches go towards the rear. Not sure how picky you wanted to get with it,but the water neck on there is a 71-72,the choke tubes should be zinc/tin color, coil bracket zinc/tin,and the crank pulley should be black.
I like it though.
I like it though.
My first car at 17 was a 70 442 Post Coupe 4 speed. Of coarse, I had no idea then how rare it was. One of 527. Yes, I'm still kicking myself. I actually tracked it down 16 years after I sold it but it was a mere shell of a car by then. Wonder if it's still out there.
The VIN on this car doesn't end in 325384 does it?

Interesting, again I must point out the washer bottle on the driver side - my car has it there, seen a few other 455s on that side, Are there holes on the passenger side r for the windshield washer bottle or does it look like it was always on the drivers side?
You mean these holes?? I got the installed washer bottle out of a doner 69, 22 years ago, it was on the drivers side in that and I don't remember driling holes in the drivers side for the 70......
Yes, you probably didn't drill holes, the assembly instructions make it sound like the drivers side comes pre-drilled, if a 455 is installed you cover those holes with goop and drill holes on the passenger side - so its all good.
I have a 70 post car I am restoring. Going slow. Love your car. Mine is not a W30 but will look like one when finished. Got a question. How do you get the aluminum around the side windows off? Also do you know anyone who has these pieces?
