It's coming along nicely Drew. I didn't realize the extent of the rust underneath. I believe the car spent its whole life in New England and probably was driven in winter. Nice to see that your giving the car what it deserves.

Thanks Dan, it is coming along nicely...... Yes I agree there was a lot more rot under there then I thought but what do you expect from a 47 year old car from the NE. I have been able to track down the history of the car and it actually started out is early years right here in NJ just 20 minutes south of me. It went off to PA then Mass and then Rhode Island before you got it. It spent some time in some sandy areas because I cleaned a lot of sand out of various body parts. I hope all is well and that your taking good care of my white 442 for me..... ;o)

Joe, you were absolutely correct with your suggestion. I went out there this morning and reassessed the situation and realized things would have gotten weird if I started cutting everything out. So I worked on getting the front brace in place and cut one on the patches for the top portion of the truck floor pan located on top of the brace. I didn't have time to start welding it in place today but I will tackle that during the week. I took some pictures of the progress.

I thought I would update you all. I finally finished the trunk floor pan. I got everything ground down and sealed and ready for primer. Overall I am pretty happy with the final outcome for my first time doing this. It is far from perfect but it will look good under the trunk mat! More importantly all the cancer is gone. I blasted the firewall and got it primed. This week I will start installing the suspension system, brake and fuel lines on the frame. Here are a few pictures of the trunk and firewall.

That looks nice, is there still a gap at the rear quarters, as that's the only access to the fasteners for the trim at the bottom.

Your not kidding Joe! I felt like I was stuck in a rut for so long cutting out all the cancer and patching it. I'm looking forward to putting the frame, etc back together. I really can't wait to slap the motor in.

This week I started working on putting the chassis back together. I was able to get the fuel and brake lines in, I got 95% of the front suspension installed. I finally pulled the cover off the rear and confirmed I have a 3.07 open rear. Here are a few pictures of the progress.

Progress has been very slow due to work and vacation, but I have been able to get the front and rear suspension installed and I have the wheels back on the frame.It is starting to look like a car again.My next step is to complete a few things on the engine (i.e. new timing chain cover, fuel pump, starter, alternator, and some cosmetic things) and I will drop it in the frame.I am going to be matching the motor up to a TCI Street Fighter TH400 that I picked up for FREE.Once I get the motor and trans in I will install the exhaust.I got the Flow Master 2.5 H pipe system, minus the mufflers.I think I am going to go with the Dynomax mufflers, based on everything that I’ve read here on CO.Once that is done I will be dropping the body back on.I am hoping to get that all squared away before the crap weather sets in, it is going to be tight.All I have is one picture, hopefully more to come soon.

The wheels of progress have been turning over here with the build. I installed the timing chain cover, water pump, and harmonic balancer.I was able to install the motor and trans into the frame.I got he headers bolted up and they fit pretty darn good.I am hoping to have the chassis ready for the body by the end of the month.My next task is to get the exhaust set up.I have a 2.5” Flowmaster system minus the mufflers.I am thinking I will go with the Dynomax Super Turbos based on what I have read here.Here are some pictures of the progress.By the way, I know the metallic blue engine color isn’t correct for a 67 but hey neither is a 455.I happen to really like this color. The last picture is of the rear brake hose and brake lines that wrong along the axle tubes. As you can see I have some issues I need to figure out. I had posted in the brake section but haven't resolved it yet. Stay tuned.

Wow your build is coming along great. Im just finishing installing the passenger quarter panel which was an unexpected project. But its coming out very good i think.
Question, which body bushings did you decide on? and what brand headers did you get, they look awesome!

Thanks Steve, I'm very happy with the progress. I got 2 sets of the body bushings one rubber and one poly. However, I am going to use the rubber set. I got them from inline tube. They seem to be of good quality.
I purchased the ceramic coated hooker comp headers. Overall I was very pleased with their fitment.

Today was a big day; I was able to mount the body back onto the frame. It defiantly was a chore doing it by myself but I got it all bolted up.I am going to get the new steering column installed tomorrow and than its back into the garage.My next step will be to finish up the brakes.I have an issue with the line the goes to the front passenger side.It is pinched between the frame and the headers on both sides of the engine.I think I will have to reform the line, not a big deal.After the brakes I will finish bolting everything up to the engine, than some electrical work.Here are some pictures of my progress today.

On Sunday I installed the new steering column I got from another CO member, Patton. Let me just say, he does beautiful work and he was a true pleasure to deal with. Since I ditched the column shifter I got a column for a floor shifter. However, I am not certain if there is some sort of boot that goes over the end that sticks out of the firewall. I attached a picture that you can kind of see what I am talking about. I will try to snap a better one.

Stock setup had no boot just a foam/sponge rubber type seal at firewall and metal sealing/support plate.

Man it was frosty out there today.. at least for us no snow... somebody says getting colder... well need to look at heating options for the shop, I had a propane heater but want something a little safer...

Well the extra days off for the holiday weekend allowed me to spend some much needed time cleaning up some unfinished business on the CS. I finished all the plumbing on the brakes and have them bled. I torqued all the control arms now that the body is back on and torqued the body bushings. The emergency brake is hooked up. The alternator and power steering pump are mounted. The transmission modulator line is in. I started lying out the electrical lines. Since I upgraded to a TH400 I was planing on using the throttle linkage/switch currently in the car. The kickdown control wire has 2 wires that go down to the transmission. However, the TH400 only has 1 terminal to connect to. Looking at the CSM it appears that the black wire is the kickdown lead, is this correct?

I set the motor to 12* before TDC, figured this would be a good place to start regarding the timing. I need to get a new set of ignition wires and I will install the distributor. I ended up getting a MSD ready to run distributor for this build. I am pretty excited about trying it out. I think my next project will be to start installing the aftermarket gauges and associated electrical.
I'll take some pictures next time I'm out there turning the wrenches.

Nice Drew, I think the 400 in the TC has a 2 prong connector but maybe thats because it is a switch pitch trans...dont know. It will be an exciting time when she goes under its own power!

Yes sir, much better than yesterday. I was thinking g of running the AutoMeter muscle series. I want to get the temp, pressure, volt, and tach. My plan is to make a custom mounting bracket for the 4 of them under the dash.
